Time to Pamper Yourself
What a wonderful time of year to think, “hmmm, what can I do to take care of myself today?”
Sounds funny, doesn’t it?
My promise to you at the beginning of the season was to help you stay organized and pace yourself so you could have a happy peaceful holiday season.

Our whole family started the season this year by going to the play, A Christmas Carol.
It was a wonderful wonderful way to put us all in the holiday spirit and remind ourselves what is important not only during the holidays but all year round.
Hopefully, you are attending some holiday events and enjoying the holiday cards friends and family are sharing with you.
December is Here
If you are still following my Holiday Planning lists, you are decorating, shopping, wrapping, cooking and still have much to do!
Are you starting to feel exhausted, stressed, or just overwhelmed? Maybe, spending beyond your budget, or eating too much?
How do you really want to spend your time in December?
Say yes to what you want to do, but remember it is okay to say no. Truthfully, I have always believed, if you don’t plan your time someone else will. Practice saying, “Thank-you, but I have already made plans”. You will feel so good taking the time for what you want to do.
You can’t do it all. What small stuff can you cross off your list?
Can you eliminate a task or two from your “to do” list and be fine with that decision?
That’s okay, pretty typical, right? Instead of letting negative thoughts invade your mind, let’s keep you on track to a peaceful, happy holiday season.
If things don’t go perfectly as planned- focus on all the things that went well and smile!
Now, It is All About You
We all do such a good job of making our loved ones feel special when planning all those memories for the best Christmas ever, we can easily forget ourselves in all the hustle and bustle. ( Is this you?)
No doubt, there will always be something to occupy your time or mind if you allow it.
However, you do have some choices and I don’t want you to miss the holidays. You have worked hard and now deserve some “me time.”
Wouldn’t you like to enjoy the holidays in good health? Whoever thinks they have a choice in that decision? Well, we all do by listening to our bodies and minds and taking care of our selves first.
If you are well rested and take care of yourself first, you will have so much more energy and fun taking care of others and still complete all of the things on your “to do” list.
Yes, you are busy, but I would like you to take a little bit of time out of your busy schedule during December and spend time each day with the most important person in your life- You.
You will still have plenty of time left over to create a wonderful, memorable Christmas for your family.
Self-care or planned personal time is different for everyone, so I can’t tell you to all sit by the tree and listen to Christmas music if that isn’t your thing. You need to think about what would it take for you to feel a bit pampered.
- Challenge yourself to plan something that will help you relax, live in the moment, and focus on what is really important. When you think about what you can do for yourself, write it down.
- You may need to be flexible with your list of indulgences. Make a list of the things you would like to try, and then when you find yourself with some extra time, pull out the list and choose something to do for you.
- Making this commitment will require a plan for each day. Just saying you are going to take time for yourself just won’t happen, keep that list handy and add to it when something new comes to mind.
- Doing something for yourself doesn’t have to be time consuming or complicated, it can be as small as eating chocolate!
- Think of it as a gift just for you from you.
I have put together a calendar of Holiday Self-Care ideas for December to get you started pampering yourself a bit.
Wouldn’t it be great to find you enjoy doing things for yourself so much, that you continue the practice going into the new year?
Download or save electronically. Add to the calendar to make it your own.- Have fun.
We have already watched White Christmas and will move on to It’s A Wonderful life next.
I sincerely would love to hear from you and how you chose to take care of yourself this season.
